A One Day Print-Making Taster Workshop
with Victoria Squires
Saturday 17th June 2017 - 10.00am - 4.00pm
A wonderful chance to experiment with three different types of printing on this day course -
Block Printing with foam and lino, Transfer Printing and Screen Printing.
In the morning Victoria will demonstrate techniques and styles, then let you experiment with each method to get a good idea of what suits you best. In the afternoon you can decide to use all three methods or just use one to create your composition on fabric or paper (which are provided). If you are a quick learner you may be able to create three different pieces of work to take home.
Victoria provides all the printing materials, all you need to bring is a notebook, pencils/pens, a sketchbook for testing and recording samples in and most importantly: old clothes as the inks are permanent. You will be given various pieces of material, a tea towel to print on and cotton rag paper along with various coloured inks to experiment with. Your work can be mounted or used to make home accessories with.
Please be aware, lunch is not provided, so do bring a packed lunch (there are also shops locally if you prefer to pop out for lunch). Tea and coffee is provided in the studio.
