Make a Unique, Wildlife Mosaic Panel with Fiona Gurney (Box of Frogs) Sunday 24 May 2020 10am - 4pm. We will be using the pattern and colour of damaged, chipped and broken china to make freestanding panels featuring animal and birds. They could include small details like flower blossoms, leaves and lettering - anything that adds to the story. The china is mainly British and from the 1960/70s, sourced for it's graphic qualities and colour palette, we use simple tools and each panel is built up gradually with every little piece playing it’s part. The workshop will cover the basics of mosaic making, tools, materials and finishing. During the day you will complete the tiling of a panel and have a grouting demonstration, you will leave with your own grouting kit including written instructions to complete at home (the panels need 24hours to set before grouting). Feel free to bring any of your own china or details you’d like to include, you may have just the right thing in the back your cupboard. Age 17+ (no exceptions - for more info. on our Young Adult courses, click here: Young Adults Workshops) Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. PLEASE NOTE: as of March 2020 we have had to add VAT to all our prices - to minimise this added expense for you, we have lowered our workshop and course prices before added the 20%. This means the prices are a little bit higher, but we (the school and tutor) have absorbed some of the extra cost. We apologise for the slight price increase.
