Oil Painting for Beginners & Improvers: a 10 week Course With Sue Tilbury

Wednesday afternoons: 1.30pm - 4.00pm
This course provides an opportunity to gain an understanding into the wonderful world of oil paint.
It will include learning to paint different subjects across a range from portraits to still life to landscapes.We will learn about colour theory, colour mixing, application of paint and mark making.
You will receive technical and practical advice and get feedback and tuition every step of the way.

Materials are not included so you will need the following:
Also one acrylic paint tube in yellow ochre
(These can be bought in sets which work out cheaper and they are often on offer online. Daler Rowney Georgian oil colour do sets.)
Metal palette knife
Brushes (Golden taklon brushes or equivalent. Synthetic flat in small, medium & large and also a couple of small, medium rounded synthetic brushes).
Canvas paper or board - eg. W&N canvas board 10” x 12” or bigger
Daler Rowney Georgian oil painting paper 14” x 10” thereabouts.
Medium - liquin
Disposable palettes - sold at all art stores eg Daler Rowney tear off palette for oils & acrylics
Baby wipes - Waitrose essential or equivalent
A carrying box to take your wet paintings home. Sold in hobby craft.
Good online suppliers are Jackson’s and Cass art. Hobbycraft, The Range in Reading and also The Works sell a few art materials.
NB - there are no facilities to clean brushes at the studio. Please bring a bag to take your dirty brushes home to clean.
