Once a month we hold something we like to call a 'Single Pose Saturday'. It's a chance to come and draw one pose for a nice long amount of time. What better way to forget the stress of normal life then to spend time in a beautiful studio, with like minded people, getting lost in drawing? And for those, like me, who find it frustrating to be really immersed in a drawing only to find the time has run out (and yet another drawing has gone unfinished) - well we've got the solution:
The Single Pose Saturday
These sessions are designed for artists (amateur or professional) who have experience in Life Drawing (this is an untutored session) - they're for anyone who wants the time to draw without being disturbed and who may want to explore other mediums such as ink, paint or clay...
We have a fantastic database of models and like to create an interesting pose, using light, costume, props etc. As always there is inspiring (but non-intrusive) music to help get the creative juices flowing, refreshments and usually a great group of like-minded artists to chat to in the breaks.
These sessions will never have more than 8 artists per group in order to keep the classes intimate and lively and to give the opportunity to move around the room if you prefer to do a number of drawings from different angles.
We provide easels, drawing boards and a whole selection of materials to play with for free. We do have basic Newsprint and materials that you are more than welcome to use, we also have large cartridge and coloured paper for sale at 50p/£1 per sheet - or you could bring your own materials and have a go at something you never normally have time for!
We break for lunch - lunch is, sadly, not provided - but there are plenty of places near the studio to buy a sandwich or salad - or you could bring a packed lunch and keep it in our fridge. Teas, coffee and biscuits are in abundant supply...
