Wednesday Evening Creative Club with Nicky Savage - an 8 week term

29th September - 24th November 2020 (half term: 27th October)

Wednesday evenings: 7pm - 9.15pm

8 weeks of Creative Exploration for all abilities!

Would you like to have a go at being creative, but you don't know where your strengths lie or even where to start?

This is the course for you!! As the name suggests, these GLORIOUSLY creative, weekly classes will help you to explore a wide range of drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and mark-making techniques.  It's a real opportunity to indulge in 2 hours of letting your inner artist out and who knows where that will lead?!

Our emphasis will be on introducing you to ways of manipulating line, tone, colour, collage and mixed media. We will work through how these basic elements can interact with each other (as well as stand alone) and how to form compositions in many playful and exciting ways.

We will start off by exploring the more traditional observational drawing and painting skills and then, as the term develops, we'll try to expand on what we've learnt, combining our skills with more abstract and playful explorations.  We'll be looking at colour, surface pattern and mark-making, including some simple print-making and typographical techniques.

This course will give you the opportunity to truly gain confidence in your own skills, develop your visual intuition and most importantly, to let loose at the end of the day for two glorious hours of creative freedom!!

The Creative Club is suitable for all abilities, no need to bring anything materials and aprons are provided.

Age 17+ (no exceptions)

PLACES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE - if your plans change, please don't ask us to refund/transfer your place (have a look at our t's & c's below for more info).

COVID PRECAUTIONS: We ask that you please  wash/sanitise your hands regularly throughout the sessions - the wearing of masks is not required, but it is preferred. The studio space is vigorously cleaned before & after all sessions during this time.

We hate being this strict - but we'd hate anyone to come to any harm and we'd also hate to have to close the school again!

IF YOU HAVE TO MISS A SESSION

Due to an extremely small admin team, the time it takes up and the financial difficulty it causes the HSA, we are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for orders made in error, changed plans or a changed mind. Please bear this in mind BEFORE placing an order.

We are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for forgotten/missed sessions which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

In the extremely rare case where a refund is issued there will be a service charge taken for our time and the payment/booking charges we have incurred.

If it's our fault:

If you're unable to attend the session through a mishap/error on our part, we will make sure you are provided with a voucher to attend any forthcoming sessions of the same type - alternatively we will issue a refund or find another solution.

The income from all our sessions is used to pay for our brilliant tutors, models & photographers, the rent on our studio, overheads and of course to pay the salaries of the hard working folk behind the scenes.
