About the Event
An Introduction to Drawing for Beginners, an 8 week afternoon Course With Kevin Scully
SPRING TERM
25th January - 22nd March
(Half Term falls on Tuesday 22nd Febraury, so there's no class that week)
Tuesday Afternoons: 2pm - 4.15pm
On this inspiring beginner’s course you’ll learn how to draw, trying out different materials and in simple and easily achievable stages.
You’ll learn how to get to grips with a variety of drawing media, from the humble pencil and charcoal to the immediacy and vibrancy of pastels.
As well as more traditional methods, this course will lead you through experiments with pen and ink, coloured pencils, and the endless possibilities of mixed media. There will be demonstrations of drawing techniques with plenty of sympathetic, one-to-one assistance in developing your own preferred style of drawing.
The subject matter will be varied, encompassing a range of techniques that can be used in rendering landscapes, still life, buildings, and portraits in both colour and black and white.
