Learn to Draw a Still Life with Nicky Savage, a one day Workshop

10.30am - 4.30pm

'Still Life' subjects can take many forms - so many in fact and that's part of the joy of sitting down to recreate one!  In this wonderful workshop you'll be exploring how to approach a still life set up, how to  break it down into shapes and tones, how to choose the most inviting compostion and then how to interpret a range of still life scenarios through observational drawing and painting skills.

You'll be learning the drawing techniques you'll need to put down on paper what you're seeing in real life.  Nicky wiill help you to really explore the use of line, tone and colour in relation to positive/negative space, developing your skills as you go along. 

In essence, the intention of this workshop is to enable you to really question and develop your ‘looking’ skills and to give you a wider understanding of how to question, analyse and manipulate visual space through your new-found drawing skills.

All materials are provided and there are aprons for everyone, so just bring yourself!

Suitable for all abilities - age 17+ (no exceptions)

Due to an extremely small admin team, the time it takes up and the financial difficulty it causes the HSA, we are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for orders made in error, changed plans or a changed mind. Please bear this in mind BEFORE placing an order, please don't ask us to make an exception (you'd be surprised how many times this happens).

We are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for forgotten/missed sessions which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

In the extremely rare case where a refund is issued there will be a service charge taken for our time and the payment/booking charges we have incurred.

If it's our fault:

If you're unable to attend the session through a mishap/error on our part, we will make sure you are provided with a voucher to attend any forthcoming sessions of the same type - alternatively we will issue a refund or find another solution.

The income from all our sessions is used to pay for our brilliant tutors, models & photographers, the rent on our studio, overheads and of course to pay the salaries of the hard working folk behind the scenes.
