Make a Unique, Wildlife Mosaic Panel with Fiona Gurney

Another of our absolute favourite workshops, one we can never resist and always take part in!  Come and escape to the sanctuary of our wonderful studio in the heart of Henley and create BEAUTIFUL mosaics - we will be using the pattern and colour of damaged, chipped and broken china to make freestanding panels featuring animal and birds. They could include small details like flower blossoms, leaves and lettering - anything that adds to the story.

The china is mainly British and from the 1960/70s, sourced for it's graphic qualities and colour palette, we use simple tools and each panel is built up gradually with every little piece playing it’s part. 

This brilliant workshop will cover the basics of mosaic making, tools, materials and finishing. 

During the day you'll get the chance to complete the tiling of a panel and have a grouting demonstration - as the panels need 24 hours to set first - you leave with your own grouting kit including written instructions to complete at home (very simple and a lot of fun).

Feel free to bring any of your own china or details you’d like to include, you may have just the right thing in the back your cupboard, our own broken china collection seems to be growing at an alarming rate!

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

COVID PRECAUTIONS: We ask that you please wear your masks during this session & that you wash/sanitise your hands regularly.  Please be aware, we will be taking each student's temperature upon entry to the studio for precaution.  Our tutors will be wearing visors & the studio space is vigorously cleaned before & after all sessions during this time.  The studio has LOTS of windows & doors which will be open to let the fresh air flow through the space.

IF YOU HAVE TO MISS A SESSION:

Due to an extremely small admin team, the time it takes up and the financial difficulty it causes the HSA, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for orders made in error or a changed mind. Please make sure you check the date BEFORE placing the order.

We are unable to offer refunds or replacements for forgotten/missed sessions which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

In the extremely rare case where a refund is issued there will be a service charge taken for our time and the payment/booking charges we have incurred.

If it's our fault:

If you're unable to attend the session through a mishap/error on our part, we will make sure you are provided with a voucher to attend any forthcoming sessions of the same type - alternatively we will issue a refund.

The income from the events is used to pay for our brilliant tutors, models & photographers, the rent on our studio and of course to pay the salaries of the hard working folk behind the scenes who put all our workshops and events on.
