Masterclass Session with Artist Aaron Jacob Jones

How many times have you seen the work of an Artist you admire and just longed to know HOW they do what they do?

Welcome to the Masterclass Sessions - a fortnightly 'draw-along' event featuring some of the best, most interesting, wildest and most skilled Life Drawing Artists out there today.  The format is simple - we will be watching each artist at work, over zoom. You'll be able to see both the model and the artist's drawing board/tablet - you can just revel in it all, watch and soak all that wisdom in, or you can indulge and draw along at the same time.  I will be on hand to ask our artists any questions you have and quite a few of my own!  We'll be looking at materials, technique, inspiration and top tips to get us motivated!  Please note, this is NOT a structured drawing class, this is a golden opportunity to watch and learn techniques from an incredible professional artist - a rare treat to lean over their shoulder as they work and soak it all in as well as listen to all that hard-earned experience & knowledge.

What to expect:

Once you've paid for this session, you will get an email from us with very clear and easy to follow instructions on how to join in - please don't forget to download the Zoom app  or update it before the session - it is VERY IMPORTANT that you have the LATEST VERSION of Zoom for this session - you’ll also need a computer or tablet with good internet connection.

I (Jo Harris) will be compering the session, asking our artist questions about their materials, practice, influence, background etc.  If you have any particular questions you would like me to ask, please feel free to email me beforehand (studio@thehenleyschoolofart.com) or you can type them in the message box on the day.  You will be able to see both the model and the page/tablet our artist is drawing on, so if you wanted to draw along you are most welcome to - or you can just watch and listen.  During the session all microphones will be muted apart from mine and the artist's apart from in the breaks.

Designed for adults - suitable for 16-18 at the parent's discretion, this is not suitable for anyone younger than 16 years old.

Please Note: Screen-grabbing, photographing or recording of this session (in any way) is STRICTLY PROHIBITED 🚫 Please respect the trust of the model and artist.

You will need to show your face at the beginning of the session - this is to make sure that you don’t have camera equipment set up, that you are not underage and that you are genuinely an artist. Just to reiterate - Please make sure your video is on at the beginning - anyone who doesn’t will have to be removed from the session and that would be just horrible.

IF YOU HAVE TO MISS A SESSION

Due to an extremely small admin team, the time it takes up and the financial difficulty it causes the HSA, we are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for orders made in error, changed plans or a changed mind. Please bear this in mind BEFORE placing an order, please don't ask us to make an exception (you'd be surprised how many times this happens).

We are unable to offer refunds / transfers to another session / gift vouchers for forgotten/missed sessions which are the responsibility of the purchaser.

In the extremely rare case where a refund is issued there will be a service charge taken for our time and the payment/booking charges we have incurred.

If it's our fault:

If you're unable to attend the session through a mishap/error on our part, we will make sure you are provided with a voucher to attend any forthcoming sessions of the same type - alternatively we will issue a refund or find another solution.

The income from all our sessions is used to pay for our brilliant tutors, models & photographers, the rent on our studio, overheads and of course to pay the salaries of the hard working folk behind the scenes.
