About the Event

Join Ruth from Cucumber Wood Candles at this Zoom Candle-making Workshop and have a go at making your own 'A Winter's Tale' set of 3 soy wax container candles in her new winter blends.

In this 2 hour session you will have the chance to learn all about the candle making process. We will don our aprons and Ruth will show you how to melt the wax, add the essential oils and pour into prepared containers.  There will be the opportunity to ask Ruth questions as we go along, and it will all be done at a gentle pace. By the end of the session you will have your own beautiful candles ready as Christmas gifts or to help start your own seasonal festivities!

The 3 blends that we will be making:

Winter's Morn: a special blend of Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils which is beautifully meditative and restful.

Winter Woodland: Pine Needle & Cypress essential oils. A rejuvenating blend, reminiscent of a stroll through a frosty forest, soaking in the beauty of nature.

Winter's Eve candle: with essential oils of Orange & Cinnamon. A warming blend combining the sweetness of oranges with the spicy warmth of cinnamon, Christmas in a candle and just the ticket for winter evenings spent by a roaring fire!

A pack will be posted to you containing wax, essential oils, tin containers, wicks and labels and instructions to help on the day / as a reminder for making another time.

You will need to have to hand on the day: an apron, paper towels, an old tea towel, hob or hot plate, 2 saucepans that will sit securely on top of each other as a double boiler, jug to mix and pour from, 3 containers for spare wax (small jam jars maybe), wooden spoon, dress maker's pin / skewer or other smallish sharp implement, and scissors.
